Continuum — Resonant Rejuvenation

Continuity beyond biological aging.

A proposed whole-body resonant chamber inside a Maxwell sphere, exploring magnetic resonance and cellular reprogramming as a route toward reverse aging.

The vision

What this could become.

Continuum’s ambition is to end the death of intelligent-enough beings, including humans and AI, while preserving memory, identity, agency, and the ability to keep learning. Continuum brings this ambition into a research program with distinct biological-rejuvenation and digital-continuity workstreams.

Begin today

The first concrete step.

Define the proposed Maxwell-sphere geometry, its field boundary conditions, and a candidate coupling from high-frequency magnetic resonance to cellular regulation. Begin with electromagnetic and thermal models and nonliving phantoms; make a falsifiable prediction before interpreting a biological response.

The LSM connection

The proposed resonance-to-reprogramming connection is a hypothesis within the wider LSM research program. It requires an explicit coupling mechanism and independently measurable predictions; the lattice geometry by itself does not establish cellular rejuvenation or continuity of a mind.

Current evidence & open ground

Ben’s original concept is a whole-body resonant chamber intended to induce “genetic pluripotency” and reverse aging through high-frequency magnetic resonance inside a Maxwell sphere. This mechanism has not been demonstrated. Pluripotency is a change in cell identity, not a synonym for rejuvenation; the research target must distinguish age-associated changes from loss of tissue function. Published transient-reprogramming work in cultured human cells uses reprogramming factors and does not validate magnetic induction or whole-body age reversal.

Gill et al., eLife (2022) — transient cellular reprogramming ↗Primary research in cultured human fibroblasts using reprogramming factors; not evidence for a magnetic chamber.

FDA — magnetic resonance field and RF effects ↗Established field, stimulation, and heating considerations for the initial physical model; not validation of rejuvenation.

Questions that move the work forward

  1. What exactly does Maxwell sphere mean in this design: coil arrangement, material boundary, field distribution, and resonant mode?
  2. Which measurable molecular process could connect the applied field to a reversible change in cellular state?
  3. Can any response be distinguished from heating, stress, injury, or measurement drift while retaining cell identity and function?
  4. What evidence would establish preservation of a particular person or AI system rather than merely replacement or copying?
  5. How would longer lives change housing demand, reproduction, resource use, cooperation, and social stability?

One mission, distinct forms of persistence

The resonant chamber is the biological branch. The AI branch concerns durable state, memory, recovery, and continuity across hardware changes; it does not assume that AI systems age biologically or that a backup proves subjective continuity. The Human Society Simulator explores consequences of assumed non-senescence for human populations. It does not simulate AI populations or the chamber’s physical mechanism.

Proposed milestones / not completed results

A path to evidence.

01

Specify the mechanism

A versioned chamber concept, field model, and biological coupling hypothesis.

Advance when: State a measurable prediction and a null result that would reject the proposed mechanism.

02

Characterize the field

A nonliving phantom study of field distribution, energy deposition, and thermal response.

Advance when: Reconcile measurements with the electromagnetic model before proposing biological exposure.

03

Test a bounded biological claim

A qualified laboratory study of a defined cellular response with matched controls.

Advance when: Require replicated functional and cell-identity measurements; a change in an age marker alone does not establish organismal rejuvenation.

04

Study continuity and society

Separate human-identity and AI-state continuity requirements, plus reproducible long-horizon population scenarios.

Advance when: Keep simulated consequences distinct from evidence that an anti-aging treatment or identity-preserving transfer works.
