Print the passive docking alignment pair; record 100 prescribed trials
Active prototype definition · Lead: Ben Đ Om
Acceptance: At least 95 fully seated trials, no damage, at most 10 N insertion force and at most 0.5 mm seated gap.
Resources: Proposed $150 materials ceiling; purchases not placed. This is a planning allowance, not a funded commitment.

The vision
What this could become.
Summon a ride, dock, and travel. Skyway separates the passenger experience from the guideway’s routing, spacing, and braking. Accessible cabins serve people without a car; certified carriers could also transport compatible personal vehicles.
Begin today
The first concrete step.
Define the DCLXVI-1 vehicle-to-carrier interface and build a tabletop demonstrator with one station, one carrier, and one pod. Simulate a small network with realistic dwell times and recovery from a stopped carrier.
The LSM connection
Skyway translates the program’s focus on repeatable interfaces into transport. Proposed LSM power and material advances are future dependencies, while docking, guidance, and operations can be investigated with conventional engineering today.
Current evidence & open ground
The concept is a carrier-and-guideway system. Its capacity, structural loads, land requirements, accessibility, and emergency recovery need to be derived for a specific route; no city-wide performance is assumed.
Questions that move the work forward
- Which vehicle envelope and docking loads should DCLXVI-1 support?
- Does station dwell time or safe guideway spacing set the throughput limit?
- How does a passenger reach a safe place if a pod stops between stations?
One interface, several vehicles
DCLXVI-1 is the proposed Distributed Corridor Linear eXpress Vehicle Interface. Start with a standard accessible pod; add personal-vehicle carriers only after their mass and geometry fit the verified operating envelope.
Proposed milestones / not completed results
A path to evidence.
Dock
A repeatable mechanical and electrical interface with alignment detection.
Advance when: Measure misalignment tolerance, cycle life, and release reliability.
Move
One powered carrier, one station, and a representative guideway segment.
Advance when: Demonstrate controlled stopping and recovery under representative faults.
Connect
A route model linking a Haven pilot to useful local destinations.
Advance when: Report trips per hour, energy per passenger-distance, and full route cost.
