Acceptance: Exact independent arithmetic and complete residual report; physical agreement remains a separate result.

The vision
A map of what the model permits.
Turn the LSM state space into a navigable atlas: compositions, geometries, symmetries, conserved quantities, and possible transitions. A future periodic table can expose families of structures and candidate bridges between them, with each claim traceable to a defined rule or calculation.
Begin today
The first concrete step.
Freeze a versioned definition of a state, allowed cells, boundary conditions, equivalence rules, and maximum size. Enumerate a small finite domain exhaustively, deduplicate by symmetry, and attach reproducible certificates before increasing the bound.
The LSM connection
Atlas directly formalizes the model. The current public Particle Masses v15 page uses q/e = (2O − T)/6, with T = −1/6 and O = +1/3. Preserve that convention and the chart’s separate node contribution; older charge conventions require an explicit version conversion.
Current evidence & open ground
Composition counts are not complete spatial states, and fractional model charge is not evidence of a new element. “All states” is a well-defined finite goal only after bounds and equivalences are fixed, unless a theorem classifies an infinite family. Stability and reaction energies require a specified, validated dynamical model.
Questions that move the work forward
- What distinguishes states: occupancy, geometry, orientation, topology, fields, or motion?
- Which translations, rotations, reflections, and particle relabelings are true equivalences?
- Which transitions preserve required quantities, and what supplies an independently testable energy barrier?
A table that reveals the bridge
Organize columns by exact charge family, rows by total composition or a defined shell index, and layers by topology and stability status. Draw candidate transition edges separately from verified ones. Keep unknown energies visibly unknown; adjacency alone does not prove a self-sustaining nuclear bridge.
A small composition sample, not a catalogue of stable particles.
| T ↓ / O → | 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | ∅ | +1/3 | +2/3 | +1 |
| 1 | −1/6 | +1/6 | +1/2 | +5/6 |
| 2 | −1/3 | 0 | +1/3 | +2/3 |
| 3 | −1/2 | −1/6 | +1/6 | +1/2 |
| 4 | −2/3 | −1/3 | 0 | +1/3 |
| 5 | −5/6 | −1/2 | −1/6 | +1/6 |
| 6 | −1 | −2/3 | −1/3 | 0 |
q/e = (2O − T)/6. ∅ is the empty composition. Each nonempty cell gives charge only; spatial admissibility and stability are unassigned.
Proposed milestones / not completed results
A path to evidence.
Define
A versioned state schema and admissibility predicate.
Advance when: Publish test examples, charge accounting, symmetry rules, and the search bound.
Enumerate
An exhaustive small-domain catalogue with canonical state identifiers.
Advance when: Independently reproduce totals and verify completeness within the stated domain.
Connect
A transition graph and fractional-charge table with evidence labels.
Advance when: Compute low-cost paths only after the move rules and energy functional are specified.
