## What the wallet records

nBTC is a centrally administered digital balance in the Treasury's SQL ledger.
The owner controls its inventory, operations and software. It is not Bitcoin.
Internal wallet transfers have a fee of zero nBTC. External payment methods may
have their own costs, which must be disclosed with an individual purchase quote.
There is no guaranteed exchange price, merchant acceptance, appreciation, or
general BTC/USD redemption right. Optional BTC merchant settlement requires
a separately accepted quote under the terms below.

The Treasury ceiling is 21,000,000 nBTC with eleven decimal places (minimum unit: one talent). Initialization
places that fixed inventory under Treasury control, without selling it or
assigning a market value. Grants and fulfilled purchases move existing units
into registered wallets. Wallet balances are authoritative only in the server
ledger; a screenshot, local simulator, physical object or unsigned message is
not a balance or proof of payment.

## Thirty-day expiry is a condition of holding these units

Each delivered amount can be spent for 30 consecutive 24-hour days. At expiry,
the unspent amount returns to Treasury ownership and the holder's entitlement
to it ends. This is not merely temporary custody for the previous holder.
The rule applies regardless of the original purchase price. Do not use this
wallet to hold an indefinite savings balance.

A completed transfer to another registered wallet starts a new 30-day period
for the transferred amount. Unspent change keeps its original deadline. The
ledger spends earliest-expiring amounts first. Transfers to the same wallet
are rejected. Logging in, looking at the balance, or requesting a purchase
does not refresh existing amounts. Different sign-in accounts belonging to
one person and collusive circular transfers are not reliably detected by this
initial release; they do not establish an entitlement to evade the terms.

The server clock is authoritative. An expired lot is excluded from spendable
balances even if no background job has posted its recall event yet. Public
supply status treats that lot as Treasury-owned immediately. Subsequent wallet
activity records the recall in the signed journal, with the lot's effective
deadline retained. Recall is not new issuance.

The wallet shows deadlines and highlights lots with seven days or less remaining.
Email, SMS and push reminders are not connected. Retain your own reminders.
Owner-declared maintenance pauses transfers and the expiry clock globally.
Resuming extends remaining deadlines by the exact pause duration. Undetected
outages are not automatically measured; report an outage or disputed deadline
to the owner for documented resolution. Do not assume a missing notice extends
a deadline.

## Recovery purpose and long-term currency goal · October 16, 2026

The purpose of recall is to keep the currency’s units recoverable when a holder loses access, disappears, or can no longer participate, so those units can support exchange again. It aims to preserve the currency’s capacity to circulate across generations. The intention is to keep monetary capacity available for exchange rather than permanently strand it through lost access.

Under the current implementation, the trigger is the published 30-day deadline for every unspent lot; the service does not determine whether its holder is actually lost. Expiry transfers ownership to the Treasury and ends the former holder’s claim. The same units can then be reissued within the existing 21 million nBTC ceiling. This preserves the unit inventory, not the expired holder’s balance or purchase price.

The long-term ambition is an “immortal” currency: a fixed, recoverable unit supply that can serve as a common reference for exchange between national currencies and support their stability. The ceiling limits new units and recall counters permanent stranding through lost access. Stable purchasing power and stable national exchange rates are further economic goals; neither is guaranteed by conserving the number of units. They depend on adoption, demand, available reserves, governance, and functioning exchange markets.

Bitcoin coins whose private keys are permanently lost remain recorded but cannot be spent; see [Bitcoin’s FAQ](https://bitcoin.org/en/faq#what-happens-when-bitcoins-are-lost). This clarification makes no estimate of the share of Bitcoin that is lost. nBTC’s mechanism concerns its own Treasury ledger. It does not recover lost BTC.

This explanation does not change accepted ownership, expiry, settlement-hold, maintenance-pause, or restitution terms.

## Purchases from the owner

1. Request an exact nBTC quantity in your wallet. A request costs nothing and
does not reserve coins or fix a price.
2. The owner provides a total USD price, payment method and private instructions.
Quotes remain open for acceptance for 24 hours. No public automated market
price is represented by a manual quote.
3. Accept the specific quote and these terms before paying. Once accepted,
the agreed quote remains an outstanding order until delivery or resolution.
Pay only through the method actually agreed with the owner.
4. Report the payment reference. The report alone does not establish settlement.
The owner independently checks the full payment and records its reference.
5. On confirmation, the ledger delivers the exact quoted quantity. The 30-day
period starts at this delivery, not while payment is being arranged.

This website does not debit bank accounts, accept card details, process PayPal
payments, or automatically verify bank receipts. Payment instructions are
supplied by the owner for each buyer. The owner must use a payment method
permitted for the actual sale. An arbitrary payment screenshot or email is
not sufficient settlement evidence.

Unaccepted requests and quotes can be cancelled. Accepted or reported-paid
orders cannot be silently cancelled by either party in the application.
If delivery cannot occur, contact the owner to arrange return of the payment.
The owner can record a completed full external refund for an undelivered order;
that prevents subsequent coin issuance from that order. Recording a refund
does not itself move dollars. Post-delivery disputes require direct resolution;
there is no automatic cash-out or refund promise for expired or already-spent
units. These terms do not override any rights that applicable law requires.

## Proposed LSM backing

Attribution clarified 26 September 2026: Ben proposes LSM as economic backing
and reports separate Gemini and GPT analyses independently estimating a minimum
US$50 trillion vested value for its unfinished, unpublished fusion-energy
trade secret/IP. The original AI outputs and assumptions are not published here
and have not been independently verified on this site. These reported AI
estimates do not prove fusion performance or establish a realizable price floor. No independent appraisal, executed asset assignment, lien,
holder priority agreement, royalty right, or immediately redeemable reserve
is created by opening this wallet or by this document. Until a separate
executed agreement grants specified rights, holding nBTC grants no ownership
of LSM intellectual property and no claim to its stated valuation.

The proposed Bitcoin-history mirror is separate from this ledger and is not
connected in this release. The Bitcoin reference does not create Bitcoin,
transfer private keys, or guarantee nBTC purchasing power.

## Records, identity and control

Sign-in uses ChatGPT's platform authentication. The Treasury stores a derived
sign-in identifier, your chosen display name and your wallet address. Your
sign-in email is not published in the Treasury journal. Exact wallet-address
lookup reveals the chosen display name so senders can review their recipient.
Transfers require the sender's authenticated session and an explicit confirmation.

The public journal contains pseudonymous wallet addresses, amounts, timestamps,
issuance/recall records, maintenance reasons and cryptographic commitments.
Payment instructions and payment references are visible only to the relevant
buyer and owner. The owner can export a private database backup containing
those records. Do not put private personal information in a public grant reason.

Download your signed receipts and checkpoints. Their signatures can verify
that the Treasury signed a record, while independently retained copies can
reveal changed history. They do not prevent all misconduct by an owner who
controls the application. No independent audit is asserted by this release.
Keep access to your ChatGPT account; this release has no separate self-service
Treasury key replacement or transfer of a wallet to a different sign-in identity.

The implementation has no owner endpoint to seize an unexpired wallet balance.
Owner authority includes grants, quotes, settlement confirmations, recording
external refunds, maintenance, and control over future software deployment.
Material rule changes must be published in advance, with a new policy version
and a migration preserving accepted terms. No such rule-change mechanism is
automatically executed by the current software.

## Direct merchant invoices — September 26, 2026 feature addition

A wallet holder can create a payment link for an agreed order. It requests an
exact nBTC amount and expires after 24 hours. The buyer confirms the destination
and amount; invoice settlement and the balance transfer happen together. The
merchant receives nBTC subject to the existing 30-day holding rule. There is
no automatic exchange, fiat payout, BTC redemption, seller endorsement, goods
escrow or chargeback. Goods, delivery and refund arrangements are made directly
between seller and buyer. A separate refund transfer uses ordinary transfer
rules; a paid invoice remains part of the historical record.

The creator can cancel an unpaid invoice. Anyone signed in who possesses its
identifier can inspect the merchant's display name, wallet, amount and payment
status. Private merchant references are excluded from that response and from
the public journal; they remain visible to the creator and in the owner's
private backup. A display name is not verification of legal identity.

This addition does not change existing balances, expiry periods, issuance or
recall rules. Losing a device does not erase server records, but does not pause
expiry or guarantee recovery from theft, lost sign-in access or other failures.

## Optional Bitcoin merchant settlement

The Pay a BTC merchant workflow is governed by the separately accepted
[BTC settlement terms](/nbtc-settlement-terms.md), policy
nbtc-btc-settlement-2026-09-26. It is available only when funded and activated
by the owner. Acceptance of its exact quote moves the agreed amount into a
protected hold, preserving its original remaining spending time. Unheld coins
continue to follow the normal 30-day rule. This optional agreement does not
retroactively change unheld lots or grant general redemption rights.

## Wallet display clarification — 26 September 2026

The wallet shows an indicative USD reference: unexpired, spendable nBTC times
the company valuation divided by 21 million nBTC. The initial valuation is
US$50,000,000,000,000, giving US$2,380,952.38 per nBTC rounded for display.
Only the Treasury owner can update the valuation, including reducing it to zero.
This reference is not an executable sale price, guaranteed purchasing power,
or a cash-out offer. Protected settlement holds and expired amounts are excluded.
The wallet checks the saved valuation each minute; no Bitcoin price feed is used.

Every unspent lot has a live countdown, UTC deadline and Unix timestamp. The
browser follows Treasury server time using elapsed time between synchronizations;
your device date setting does not set expiry. Countdown displays are approximate;
server confirmation determines whether a payment arrived before expiry. While
maintenance is active, remaining time freezes and the final Unix deadline is
recalculated on resume. Displays are marked stale if server synchronization fails.
These display and attribution clarifications do not change existing lot terms.

## Minimum unit · October 4, 2026

The minimum unit is one talent, equal to 0.00000000001 nBTC. Amounts support
eleven decimal places; 1 nBTC equals 100,000,000,000 talents. Existing nBTC
balances keep the same value.
